EDAM Group launches new wellbeing initiative as part of Learning At Work Week

Here at EDAM, we have launched our company-wide ‘Minding EDAM’ wellbeing initiative to encourage better mental health among our team.

Unveiling the plans during this year’s Learning At Work Week (13th to 19th May) which is spearheaded by the Campaign For Learning charity, we are proud to herald the start of our ongoing activities with a series of Mind, Body and Soul sessions at our Head Office in Manchester.

The thoughtfully considered calendar of mood lifting events includes pilates, cycling, a health and wellbeing check, as well as a Jigsaw Corner, ‘Chatty Natter’ conversation table and calming City of Trees. We are also recruiting volunteers to become ‘Mental Health First Aiders’ in a bid to encourage an open and honest culture across our Head Office and depots.

Creating a nurturing environment in which our team members can thrive is key to upholding EDAM’s core values of innovation, respect, integrity, passion and fun as one team while also ensuring our market-leading levels of customer service for which the company is renowned.

‘Minding EDAM’ aims to promote a stimulating learning culture with its foundations firmly rooted in the overall wellbeing of each individual, with a special emphasis on mental health.

CEO Steve Turner said, “The benefits of continual learning and development create an overwhelmingly positive impact, for the individual, for the team and for the business overall. We are delighted to take Learning At Work Week as our inspiration and use it as a catalyst to reinforce our commitment to our people and their wellbeing.”

‘Minding EDAM’ will run for the first time throughout Learning At Work Week and will be supported each month with a program of similar activities geared towards promoting better mental and physical health in the workplace.

Our commitment to investing in our team members is at the heart of all EDAM does, as we continue to offer an inspiring work environment backed up by state of the art facilities. Providing new and exciting opportunities for growth and development ensures team members are happy and fulfilled in their roles as market leading service providers who are passionate about what they do.

We were recently listed in The Sunday Times Top 100 Best Companies to work for in the UK; testament to our ongoing efforts to maintain a stimulating workplace with a positive culture. Not only that but we also won ‘Silver’ in the ‘Employee Engagement, Learning and Development’ category in recognition of our excellent employee reward, retention and support measures we have put in place to help maintain a happy and productive workforce, at last week’s UK Employee Experience Awards.
