Internal Account Exec Interview

An exciting opportunity has just become available at EDAM Group. We are expanding the team and looking for a candidate to fill the Internal Account Executive position.

Our Internal Account Executives are here to build good strong, professional working relationships with current business partners and make outbound calls to bodyshop prospects to win new business.

To find out a little more about the position, here is what Lee Halliwell had to say about the day in the life of an Accounts Executive at the EDAM group:

What type of person would be suitable for this role?

A self-motivated person who has the desire to be master of their own destiny, well organised and able to keep on top of their accounts.

What skills do you use to get the best out of your day?

Organisation and ability to work smart are a must in order to maximise your daily calls & build relationships with all existing and new accounts.

How do you achieve your success?

Holding honest conversations with all Business Partners, this gives me the ability to find out opportunities about their business. You also need to be tenacious & hard-working.

What skills do you use to make the best of the opportunities?

The ability to negotiate is essential, as well as knowing the company you’re talking to which can be achieved through due diligence.

How do I build a relationship with my BP?

I would have to say, be personable – get to know the person at the other end of the phone by finding out about their interests and their family is one way I would do it.

What is crucial to be a success in the role?

You need to be self-driven, ambitious, motivated, resilient, and also have the ability to overcome objections.

How do you plan your day, time?

I am very reactive, and you need to be as you never know what issues you’re going to have to come face to face with. There is of course a diary which you keep helping you maintain your accounts and structure your day.

What do you like about working at EasiDrive in your current role?

My job is very varied, no two days are the same. It’s very fast-paced. I also like the fact that you have to be innovative.

How do you achieve your targets and how do you stay motivated?

I am money motivated so that always helps. The targets are achievable and are done over a quarterly basis so even if you don’t hit in one month, you can always make up for that in another.

What gives you the most satisfaction in your position?

It has to be the point of which you go from speaking to a garage for the first time to when they send in their first claim. That and overachieving targets.

Can you tell me about the perks of the role?

The fact that you get to manage your own diary is a great bonus for me, also not working weekends, a staff car, and all the other benefits of working here.

Could you do this job without any previous experience?

I did. Anybody with desire, hunger, drive, and a willingness to learn would be an ideal fit for this job.

How does this sales role compare to others jobs you have done in the past?

This job is much more varied than any other I have done before. There isn’t a tangible product that you’re selling here, it’s a service so there’s a lot more responsibility.

What type of research do you do to maximize opportunity?

Getting images of the garage is a good way to see where they are based and helps to see if they are situated in a good spot. You can also check to see if they have a website or a Facebook page – even checking if they use Trustpilot is a good method. I will also use Companies House to check the owner & businesses history.

Don’t miss this great opportunity, if this sounds like the type of role that would tick all your boxes, apply today.
